Interior Designs

Hello everyone,

2012 has started as a refreshing year to everyone. With 2011 finally finishing, we can all start anew & what better way to do this than to redecorate? It’s always given people that feeling of change that we need every once in a while & as we’ve found, generally the best designs to go with are bright & colourful, simple & minimalist or calm & “cruisy”.

The bright and colourful styles when used correctly can and usually do create an atmosphere of class mixed with a dash of excitement for owners and visitors when entering a room. Bright colours are good for making smaller rooms appear bigger and vice versa.

Simple & minimalist styles tend to be very spacious & without clutter. This makes the room look larger than it actually is as well as modern. The painting styles are typically light colours with shades of white, grey, green, blue, and more. Using light colours can also make a small room look larger just as bright colours can. A handy tip for those designing their home or a particular room in this design is that all electronics such as blu-ray players & TV’s etc. be streamlined & have a space between them as well as the furniture standing on short legs so that you can just see the floor underneath; this helps to improve the spaciousness of the room.

The colours in a calm & “cruisy” sort of design are light as well, similar to the simple & minimalist style, but are used a bit more in furniture & home accessories such as pillows & throw rugs. Looking through interior design books, the colour used most for this is a cool blue colour with white. Cool colours are quite popular with the calm & “cruisy” designs because they create a relaxed atmosphere in the room.
